Failing so far

So... Played the lottery Wednesday

My ticket: 20, 27, 42, 43, 52, PB: 19
Winner: 10, 20, 23, 47, 54, PB: 26

So I got 1 number right - I guess that's something.

And Saturday and Sunday this weekend I ate A LOT of food. It didn't help that I was stuck inside with and ailing wife and nothing to do BUT eat! So I'm making up for it this week with extra running (or poopy diapers as you would call them Bryan).

And hey - if you hate running so much you should train for the triathlon - then you can swim, bike and run. We do one every summer (August 9th this year). It's actually very fun!

My goal is 3 times per week. So far so good, although last week might have been just 2 1/2 times.

I have a "casual" goal, maybe more like a thought, to run a 5k sometime this spring/summer. If I do, my true goal would be to not finish last!!!

Updates Before Surgery tomorrow...

So tomorrow is my fun, fun surgery. I'm dreading it, but more because it's a major annoyance than anything else. :)
Hmm... updates... and honest ones... I was bad 2x in 7 days. That sounds awful, but for me not too awful, but still not good! One night I had to make brownies to bring to my parents for the next day and if you know me and brownie batter... well enough said. However, I would usually tank sooo much batter, but this week I just had some and not lots! So, some progress! Then, the function at my parents I Didn't eat a single brownie- yay me! However the leftovers were sent home with us and on Wed. afternoon I had 2! Yup, two! Here's my excuse... I was exhausted! Callen has been terrible the last 2 nights at night and I was sitting down for the first second all day around 2pm and I gave in. They were really good though, I might add! hehe The good think is that I didn't let that cave in ruin the rest of the day. I got back on the wagon (is that the right phrase?)
Today it's 2pm and I've been awake since 1:45am (another awful night with Callen- Eric and I were up about every 15-20 mins! I'm not sure what's up with him b/c this is not the norm. Usually it's one time awake during the night. Grrr!) but so far so good- no brownies!
Total weight loss this week is prob. around 1- 1 1/2 lbs. Not impressive at all, but at least it's something.
Here's my goal for the weekend... I'm hoping the surgery makes me feel crappy for a few days and that I don't want to eat anything! hehe. Maybe I can drop a quick 3 lbs!

Show me the money

This is Eric, the husband of crazy-blogger-lady. I have two goals, one real and one completely unrealisitc.

So #1 - I would like to win the lottery. I've probably played the lotter 5 or 10 times in my life and I don't think I've even gotten a single number right. But as I'm always reminded by crazzy-blogger-lady, "You can't win if you don't try." So from now until memorial day I will by at least 1 lottery ticket a week - and I'm talking Powerball here, none of these weak scratch-and-win tickets. I want the big bucks! I'll update to see if I even get 1 number right. And if I do win, all participants of this blog will be hansomely rewarded. Actually- that should read WHEN I WIN...

#2 - I have been running a lot and getting in shape. I eat really healthy about 90% of the time, the problem is, if I have one day where I feel unmotivated and give in to a small edible temptation, I then eat as much as possible and only stop when I feel I might vomit. I'm not exagerating either. Crazy-blogger-lady gets mad at me b/c I'm all or nothing with desserts. I don't want just 1 cookie, or 1 brownie, or 1 small bowl of ice cream. If I eat 1 cookie, it turns into 15, 1 brownie turns into 1/2 of a 9x13 pan, and 1 bowl of ice cream turns into a 1/2 gallon. So my goal is to not eat more than 1 dessert at 1 sitting EVER for the next 6 weeks. I already made progress by eating 1 tasty-cake cupcake at lunch on Saturday without finishing the box! Whoopee!

That's all, I figure if I have 2 goals I'm bound to reach one of them - I just hope it's the first one that succeeds!

My Goals...

Since Bryan Joined, now I actually have to post my own goals. I'm not giving you numbers, not until they're the ones I want to be seeing :)

My first goal is that I'd like to lose around 20 lbs for starters. So far I've lost 2 (since starting the blog. )

My second goal is to stop eating like crap! I seriously am addicted to junkfood. I love desserts and I've spent the better part of the last 7 years pregnant, so I've kind of eaten all the dessert I've wanted for that entire time. I'm not just talking about dessert at night after dinner... I'm talking about dessert throughout the day! Cupcakes, brownies, cookie dough, frosting, etc... All that kind of stuff has basically gotten me through each day :) So now I need to make friends with carrots, nuts, yogurt, and the dreaded salad! I hate salad-it's definitely rabbit food, not people food!

For now I'm not being too strict with non-dessert foods. We had taco salad for Sunday lunch and I used chips in my salad etc, but just beginning with no desserts is a good place to start. After I'm through the first miserable few weeks I'll also focus on reducing the carbs etc. :( Carbs and I are BFFs.

So far I've gone since Friday night without desserts. I had a few bites of a pudding last night, but Eric said that was okay b/c I don't love pudding and it was the light stuff. Today will be a challenge, well actually the first 2 weeks will be kind of terrible! So I'll try and be honest and hopefully once the pounds drop I'll be foot loose and fatty free!

Oh and I am having surgery on Friday (bilateral, inguinal hernia repair)and will be having to lay low for about a week, so I just hope that I can resist the cookie urge when I'm in bed healing :)

That's all for now. I need to go find a piece of gum to keep my sweet tooth at bay!

So running huh? Good for you! I HATE running! I am going to have to buckle down and run though before summer. Yuck! For now I have the excuse of surgery on Friday and a few weeks of restriction before I can work out! Sweet!

Gold star for the first guest blogger!!!!!

So what will I quit first.......blogging on here or running?!?!?! Oh wait, with Monica's help I won't quit either of them. And yes I am a male-viewer of your blog and voted for Hayes more than once!!!

I started running again about two weeks ago with a goal of getting in shape, slimming my waistline, and allowing myself to continue to eat junk. Today was run #4. I have a "loop" that I run which is about 2 miles (I think) and today took me about 18:30. I feel like I am going really slow, but if I go faster my chest will explode. I hate running unless I'm playing basketball.

Why a Blog? and What's it for?

Sorry about the blog title, but I thought of it and it made me laugh. It's kind of true though. I am much better at achieving my goals when I share them with someone! So Thanks Obama! Together we Can!
Whether your goal is to eat better, work out more, loose weight, run a 5K, be a better mom or friend, etc... This is a place for you to be encouraged by other people's success and to encourage others in their goals.
My goal of course is to drop this baby weight and learn to eat healthy again, but I looked at weight watchers.com and it was 5.00 a week! Rip Off! So rather than dish out the dough I thought we could form a little community here to reach our goals! So here's the info...

Okay everyone let's set our 8 week goals and then stick to them! 8 Weeks puts us to Memorial Day, which is the unofficial start of summer and that's a good first goal timeframe.

Here's my plan... Everyone can post! I'd like that everyone commit to posting at least 2x a week for the first 3 weeks and then once we're on a roll then we can drop the minimum down to 1x per week. I'd like everyone to post lots more and to give lots of comments on other people's posts, but do what you can.

1st post- Let us know your goals. Be specific! I'm not telling you what I weigh, but I'll tell you what I lose each post. So give the details that you're comfy with. If your goal is to Run a 5K or something like that, then tell us how you plan to train etc. This way we can help encourage you to stick to your plan.

2nd post and beyond- Give updates. BE HONEST! I fail at this "diet" I'm on by about 3pm every day :) So don't worry about a few slip ups! Share your success too! Even small ones! I did not eat a cup cake today and there were amazing ones left from Kenzie's birthday- so woo hoo for me- it's the small things that make it work in the long run I guess :)
